Been in Doylestown 6 years. Went to Madam Butterfly twice. We thought the first time was maybe a bad day for the waitstaff so 6 months later we went again. Same bad experience. Sushi was decent to good - but with Ooka being just a couple of miles down the road, we will never go back to Madam Butterfly.

I honestly didn't believe the person who said it was on par with the best sushi in NYC when I read that. Having been to NYC a lot though, and also having lived in boston for 4 years, I have to say that this place is on par with the very best sushi I've ever eaten. They're rolls are very creative, and do not disappoint. I can't recommend madame butterfly enough.

As good as anything in NYC

Madam Butterfly is a first class restaurant for ultra-fresh sushi, creative rolls (try the Teddy roll) and their own house blend of Soy sauce.
We have been there about a dozen times over the past few years and have always had a good meal.

The food is great and the owner is a sweetheart!

I have become a regular at this emporium of great sushi. What is a regular? They keep a special set of chopsticks for you in the back and as soon as the waitress comes to your table she lets you know if they have your favorites that day. The selection is always wonderfully delicious and creative. The presentations are also fantastic. It is a little pricey but I keep going back so they must be doing everything else right!

Not nice staff
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/23/06
We had a "good" sushi meal. The staff was rude, reminding us the menu was made out of a special paper that could be damaged. Only place we have found in D town for sushi.
I excepted an expensive, traditional japanese restruant such as Madam Butterfly's to have courteous polite staff. I did not expect the rudeness of the waitress telling me to make my friends stop going outside to smoke. Nor did I expect the COLD fried dumplings I got. It was great atmosphere wise. And the miso was excellent. I just wish they had more considerate waitstaff.
