I had the worst experience ever at the Dobbin House in Gettysburg. My husband and I go to Gettysburg frequently. We went there New Years Eve "08" to have dinner with family members. Grant it is was very busy, when we got there the woman at the door was very short and was not interested in help us find the rest of our party. We kept tell ...

The atmosphere alone makes dinner at Dobbin House well worth your time and money. It's Gettysburg's oldest home, and your visit islike stepping into a time machine. Servers in period garb serve excellent cuisine by candlelight. We had the Adams County Roast Duck and the Filet Mignon, which were wonderful, with an order of the crab cakes. ...

I went to Gettysburg for the first time with my boyfriend, who is a Civil War buff, and he surprised me with reservations here! The staff, dressed in traditional period clothing, are very attentive and efficient, the atmosphere really takes you back, and the food is AWESOME! Not only do you get a very well-filled bread basket (with mini muffins ...

An absolutely awesome experience. I have been traveling to Gettysburg for almost 30 years...and this is the one place that we make sure we eat in at least once, maybe twice, when we are there.
The Springhouse Tavern, downstairs is a fantastic place to eat. The dark, candlelit, colonial tavern sets the standard for other restaurants looking for ...

Couldn't get much worse!
Last Friday, October 10, 2008, myself and two other guests found ourselves in Gettysburg. Unfortunately, Most Haunted was filming a show that night. Absolutely horrible how the town sold completely. They had shut down my favorite place to eat - the Farnsworth House, so we went in search of another eating ...

Okay so the restaurant was refreshingly different! The old fashioned candles and the great food plus efficient waitresses made the restaurant one of my favorites! After my mother and I were done eating we decided to spend some time in the gift shop. Unfortunately, we were not greeted as kindly as down stairs. The sales clerks acted as though you ...
I have been to the Dobbin House several times and every time I go, it's always a good experience. The atmosphere is great, the food is great, and the wait-staff are exceptional. With old wooden benches and chairs and real candlesticks, this is a great place to enjoy with family and friends. May not be so great for anyone who is handicapped or ...

Our favorite Gettysburg Eating Establishment

We come here on average once a month. We love the roasted chicken, the Onion Soup, and the fruit and sweet bread. The gingerbread is great, the sandwiches and salads fantastic, and the ambiance is nice. It's a little tight to negotiate in Civil War attire with hoop petticoats, but I've been there many times in period dress, of course, ...
I live in Gettysburg so we seem to go there whenever people visit and we love it there. It is very country like and the food is superb. I'm only 12 but it is very comforting and relaxful! They play veryy soothing music and it is just wonderful!
