Many people have commented on the host's friendliness and helpfulness. This is true, however, we found it a bit over-bearing at times! I went up solo to visit the monkeys taking hot baths (onsen). The Yudanaka area in Japan is not as helpful with English directions like Tokyo or even the smaller rural areas I've been to in the past.
