I had never stayed at a hostel before this, and I was pleasantly surprised! The owners and staff were extremely polite. They even let my friend and I borrow a guide to the city of Florence to use while there. They let us use the Internet at no extra charge. The rooms and bathrooms were clean. I would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone staying in Florence!

Max and Sylvia just make this place. It isn't hugely modern or chic but it's friendly and it's welcoming and it's exactly what is needed and all of the staff are always on hand to help, whatever your needs. I was extremely sad to leave and will definitely return!

If you are looking for a CLEAN and COOL place to stay in Florence, believe me, no choice, Ostello Gallo d'Oro is your place. Max and Silvia are simply amazing, they are the nicest people i met in my 3 month travel around Europe ! Thanks guys !!! Tim

...after a long ride by train at your arrival in Florence what you need is just your room and something to drink. But "instead" we had amazing people waiting for us in a cool hostel really clean and cosy...what else, thank you Max and Silvia !!!
