Osiris says it's an hitel but is only, officially, a place there they hire rooms. Hotel is an official recognition from the egyptian authorities. And they don't have that. That alo means that in cause of trouble, you can do nothing because it' a non official place. Poor breackfast, very expensive options, some rooms without bathrooms, it's a very expensive place, you can fine very better, offcial hotel for less.

Reacting on the below comments, I think the hotel is a real haven. Free from obnoxious 4 star service, free from TV and genuinely oriented towrd welcoming tourist in a friendly & honest way. I even stay there for business trips. Management is very flexible and can arrange reliable taxi service for the full stay with their own drivers at unbeatable prices. A must.
They charged me for 4 night's even I did not like the place and I did not stay there and I went to another 3 stars hotel. The travel agency asked the owner to charge one night only and the owner refused and they said they agency can come to use the room if they want. I was going there because I read many positive reviews which are not true at ...
i am the booking manager of the hotel Osiris in Cairo and I would like to answer to the previous review: I have looked into that booking and discovered that the people who booked it did so through a travel agency and not through us, it appears that they asked for certain things (tv in the room, fridge...) so when they arrived it was not ...

Fantastic hotel in Cairo
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/09/06
I stayed at the Hotel Osiris for a week in July this year (2006) and can recommend it without hesitation. The accommodation was excellent. The bedrooms and bathrooms were spotlessly clean, and the in-house dining facilities were great - fabulous food! The hotel is also very conveniently located in downtown Cairo, close to major attractions and ...
Like the other reviews here, I found the Osiris to be a very clean and friendly place to stay. The food from their kitchen was excellent, and the staff very helpful and pleasant. Nabil, the co-owner with his wife, was an exceptional host. The location couldn't be better if you want to be in the heart of the city. It is close to a number of ...

Nice hotel with perfect terrace and friendly staff
It is a very nice hotel walking distance from historical part of Cairo, the Egyptian Art Museum and the Nile. Clean, nicely decorated, with great terrace, good food and very friendly staff and family atmosphere. Definitely recommend!
