    The Gecko Lodge looked great from it's website, however the reality was very different.
    We stayed there for 2 days (meant to stay there for 2 weeks!) mainly because the rooms and communal areas were filthy. I'm not talking standard, acceptable 'hostel messy'; I mean disgustingly dirty. The room we were in hadn't been cleaned ...

    its laidback, not as annonymous and cool.
    a lot of interessting people stay there
    it is the closest hostel to the beach
    its easy to meet people here
