Amazing food... worth the wait (there always is one) because you can just hang around the town. Get the quiche or pancakes!

they are open 8-3 seven days a week, go for breakfast and get the pancakes, any kind, especially the grain and fruit ones, huge cakes with bananas, apples, raisins, walnuts, and cinnamon...mmmmmm soo good! but their prices are a little higher than a typical breakfast diner.

As a Brit who loves American Diners above all else in the US, this place really surprises: great traditional food - well cooked and 'clean', a good atmosphere and a series of out of this world special dishes - mel's mexican hash is the best breakfast I've had
I regularly drive an extra ten miles to breakfast here. bad for the carbon footprint, and a real find in such a small town
Being number one on the east coast and in the top ten in the nation for pancakes, this is where you want to get breakfast. I was the cook for two years at Sweet Sue's and I know, the best pancakes. Sue Taylor guards her her recipes like a dragon does his hoard, and with reason, they can't be duplicated. If you ever get to the little town of Phoenicia, stop at Sweet Sue's, well worth the experience. Tell Sue Nevada says hi.
excellent food, particularly in the carbs realm of breakfast. kind people as well. highly highly recommended.

Pancakes Galore!

Sue claims 23 kinds of pancakes with interpretive portraits of each on the dining room wall. This was an awesome place to stop at 8:30 AM on Sunday morning after two days of winter camping.
I had a (single) blue monkey four-grain pancake while my companions had omelettes. Everybody left happy with the one caveat that the coffee was pretty weak for being so far North.
The food is slightly better than run-of-the-mill, but the service on a recent Saturday morning was terrible. Do not go if you are in any kind of a hurry, or more than slightly hungry.

Fantastic Food--Service is rough
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/20/06
This is def the best breakfast in town and in the area. The variety of pancakes from buckwheat, whole wheat, to "Blueberry Monkeys" (bannana and blueberry pancakes) are inventive, healthy and not what you would expect this far out of Woodstock--excellent. Great Omletts and Oatmeal--really good for hiking a full day. Charming rest with ...
