Unless you are the right skin complexion you would not feel comfortable. On 26 Dec 09, stormy weather all day, A group of us, about 6, all hispanic but one, who is African-American, tried to enter the establishment when stopped at the door, and was told only one of us was allowed to enter. It was the late evening and there were many open seats. So ...

We went with family in celebration of my 60th birthday. A really fun, energetic, and friendly place. All the staff were efficient and very accomodating. The pasta deal with the 3 different pastas, all you can eat, were delicious. I do not like mushrooms so was passing on the mushroom ravioli till my daughter insisted I try it. Amazing!!!! The ...

Noisy and a lot of hustle and bustle. Food is good. But this is not the place to go to if your looking for a quiet dinner.

Becco came recommended to me by two different people. I am a big fan of Lydia Bastianich's cooking and I was looking forward to our dining experience. was disappointed though for a number of reasons. I found the restaurant to be very small and cramped with tables on top of each other, plus the restaurant was extremely noisy. The service was ...

  • Family style, but bit touristy
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/01/06
Being near the theatre district, and for its famed owner, we felt it was little touristy (and most of the customers were in fact tourists). However, food was excellent unlike many other touristy restaurants in the area. I had 3 kinds pasta prix-fixe menu, with grilled vegetables appetizer, linguini with clams, spinach stuffed lasagna, and my ...

  • Is The Waiter Paying My Bill?
    By Donata, 07/17/06
Dinner July 15 2006. I ordered a beer in a "rocks" glass. The waiter said they were known for their wines. Okay, but I still wanted a beer. The beer came in a Pilsner glass. I reminded the waiter about the "rocks" glass, he apologized, and he brought a new beer.

Instead of the Caesar salad I ordered a salad with balsamic ...

  • Not as good as we would have liked it to be.
    By lee, 04/12/06
I come from a northern Italian background. The beef was not cooked as we asked for. The polenta was like cream of wheat--white-very smooth texture and not very tasty. The bread basket was wonderful. The waiters were very good. Would have liked a ravioli and other traditional food to be an option. We were a party of five and all said we wouldn't go back.

  • Who's on the rudder?
    By ZippyP, 11/29/05
Been looking forward to going to one of Lidia's restaurants for quite a while and stopped in here for lunch. The decor is nice and inviting, then the waiter.... Well, I assumed he must have been a genius since he took our orders (3) for drinks, appetizers, entrees without writing anything and sure enough the wines were wrong and one appetizer ...
