Last night I took my father and son and his family to the BWG for dinner. It was horrible. We had 6:30 reservations in the jazz room. We were seated on time, the waitress came over and asked about drinks etc. When it came time to order we ordered abut 7 and our dinner did not come till 8p that was un heard of. We had to sent back the lobster dishes ...
Next time I am in NY and need a seafood fix, I will return to the Blue Water Grill! We sat on their veranda, people watched, and sipped sake. What a great experience!
This is a local favorite. For everything from a full out dinner to a couple of drinks and some items from the raw bar...this is a great spot. I'd recommend ordering the raw bar tower (tiered tower of ice and raw shellfish) at least once. My only complaint is that the seating can seem "cozy" and the upper level of seating is cramped. Request a table on the main floor if possible.

Great food, excellent service, romantic ambience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/15/06
We were sitted at downstairs where they play live Jazz. With party of 13, they required pre-charge on the credit card ($65/person pri-fix 3 course dinner) and limited 2.5 hours of dining (and required extra $1000 charge if we stay longer). All these rules felt rediculous at first, but they definitely made up with good food and great service. Plus, live Jazz and the abundant candle lights made it very romantic.

Excellent Seafood
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/21/06
In a city where good seafood is a rarity, Blue Water Grill delivers. My crab encrusted halibut was incredibly delicious and so was Matt's porcini dusted sea bass. Known to be the best place for oysters, the ones we got--chesapeake, hama hama, kumamoto--did not diasppoint. The banana ice cream with hazelnut shell is now one of my favorite ...
My wife and I recently visited the Blue Water Grill for Lunch. It was a surprise for me and I must tell you I thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was a little slow but our waitress made up for it in personality and warmth. She was absolutely wonderful. The food was well worth the wait! We had the special, which that day was grill mahi over a corn ...
This place has awesome seafood. I ordered the grilled scallops and shrimp- you can't go wrong. The portions are enough to fill you. The vegetables were delivious, while the shrimp and scallops were fresh from the grill- sort of a beefy flavor to them, and they were huge. I had a great time.
The menu is better than average and the room has sweeping columns which add a unique feel to the dining room. Service is casual and can be slow if the dining room is crowded. Dining room can be noisey.
