Simply the best value in NYC. Fabulous food, great atmosphere. What else do you need to know? Run, don't walk to eat here.

The borscht is great and almost authentic. However, the food is more Polish than Ukrainian. It's like you stepped into a cheap diner in Lvov. Service was ok and no one seems to speak Ukrainian except for the cooks.

My friend from Kiev takes me here sometimes. He says the borscht tastes like back home. I like the perogies--cheese, meat and potato. The sweet potato ones rub us the wrong way... but give it a try, you may like it. Just be sure to ask for apple sauce! Veselka has the BEST BORSCHT (summer & winter varities)!! I also love their banana cream pie, and the meatballs with mushroom gravy. The periogi's are also delicoius. And George is delicious! Well now I'm really hungry so I'm off to get some of that borscht!!

Supposedly authentic UKRANIAN fare. Was somewhat disappointed at best. I'd only go back if it was TOO cold or TOO wet to hunt out another place to truly grub.

A great place which is always open for you with Ukrainian food and American standards. The service is actually not bad, and it's so convenient to have a place to go in the Village that's open all night, be thankful we have Veselka. They also make one of the best burgers in New York. All their food is excellent, so this is one of the best bargains in the city. N.L.

Great European dishes with energetic east village atmosphere. Do show up on Sunday after 11am unless could bear up to an hour wait.
