I have eaten pastrami in every restaurant in NY and there is nothing that comes close to Katz's. it is the only place that still hand slices the pastrami so instead a lot of machine sliced slivers you get thick pieces of pastrami. I go for the food. If you have never been there, just remember to take a ticket when you walk in and either sit ...

I have been going to Katz's Deli since my parents took me there many years ago. It was a real cultural experience and the food was good and the prices fair. I was there recently and found something different. Today a pastrami or corned beef sandwich runs about $15.50 plus tax , and maybe a tip if you get table service. That's a cultural ...

Grew up on Long Island and I've been to numerous deli's; this was my first time at Katz's. I will not go back. It took an hour on line to get my brisket sandwich and it was predominantly fat (a little fat is ok but this was ridiculous). After waiting all that time I was told that I would have to get my soup, drinks and potato pancakes ...

"I'll have what she's having!" But seriously, copious amounts of delicious food...it's best to share a sandwich between two.

I don't know what the fuss is about...I lived in NYC for 15 years, yesterday was my first time at Katz's Deli, and it was my LAST!!! I didn't like the service (they have some rude people working there) and the food is NOT that great!!!! Very disappointed!

Katz's Deli was on my list of restaurants to eat at while in NYC in October 2008 and definitely remains on my list when I go again. Was my first time but never will be my last. The half sour pickles are to die for. Got Reuben with corned beef, will have to get pastrami next time. If I could I would give them ten stars but they definitely deserve five.

every time I visit Manhattan, I will make at least 1 trip to Katz for a pastrami sandwich. It's the absolute BEST!!!!!
Tip your sandwich maker, and he'll load up your sandwich w/ so much pastrami you won't be able to finish your sandwich =)

Excellent food!! The Corned Beef and Pastrami are the best. The building needs remodeling but I did not go for the atmosphere.
