Swagath is an excellent South Indian Restaurant. We went with friends and had wonderful authentic food. The service was very fast and friendly. The thali was very tasty and the idli and dahi vada were excellent. The Rasum was superb. The sambhar and curries were great. The ambience and decoration were elegant. We look forward to returning to Swagath for another fabulous meal. Highly recommended restaurant in Edison.

I don't know what counts as "authentic", as I'm not Indian and have never been to Tamil Nadu or Karnataka, but Swagath serves some of the tastiest South Indian food around. If you are looking to go to an authentic south Indian restaurant – Swagath is the place. The food is mouth watering. The owners and the staff live up to its name.

2.Paniaram and Masal Vadai for starters
3.Mysore Thali

Worth giving it a try. I did and now, I go there every weekend.

Swagath has always been my number one restaurant in NJ/NY area. The Food is very authentic and the taste is awesome. I have been dining there for the past 11 years or so and the taste and standard have been maintained to the highest extent.

Restaurant is very clean and food is healthy. If you are looking for authentic south Indian vegetarian food you don't have to think twice when Swagath is there.

I guess this restaurant will come on top if I want healthy food and vegetarian food. I had to wait long for service and bill. Overall, the decor and food is okay...may be healthy but not very tasty. I would take my parents there or may be strictly vegetarian friends. I wont go there.
