I grew up in San Diego, CA, and spent much of my youth in Tijuana, MX. I also lived in Guadalajara, Jalisco, MX for many years. Moving to CT was a shock to my Mexican food senses and it wasn't until I found El Mexicano that I finally had a good Mexican meal. By far the best ceviche and carnitas in CT. And while it may not be the fanciest restaurant in CT, it's by far the most authentic.1 of 1 Yahoo! Users found this review helpfulOVERALL

Avoid this place!I had been looking forward to having a good Mexican dinner, so I located El Mexicano and arrived at about 7.20 on a wednesday eveining.
The restaurant was very quiet, with only myself and one couple present.
The waitress brought me a menu, and a bowl of tortilla chips and a bowl of salsa. She pressured me into having a drink, so I grudgingly ...SHOW FULL REVIEW
