Nothing new or extrodinary. The chicken tikka is over marinated. Many sauces taste the same. The bread is too doughy. The prices are too high and the atmosphere is like an automotive shop.

Bottom line - over priced.
Entry to the place is strange, followed my a noisy waterfall in the main room. Presentation was good and the food was decent, but all in all a poor value. Recent business lunch was $40/head without alchohol and before tip.
I am sure it is the best Indian resteraunt in NC, it is likely the only Indian resteraunt in NC as well. Coromandel in Darien is but minutes away and a better value.

Terrible service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/22/06
We found the service here really terrible. The food was OK and decor nice, but the service was absolutely disastrous. Our waiter and the owner seemed totally indifferent to what we wanted and in general attitude. Wouldnt expect this from a nice restaurant in an upscale neighbourhood like New Canaan. I'd recommend going to Dhakshin in Stamford. Much better food and far better service here!

Best Indian food in New Caanan
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/22/05
Thali is hands down the best Indian food we found in southern CT. The building - an old bank, I believe - is roomy and has very high ceilings. The prices are fair, and the service impeccable. You definitely get the feeling that your business is appreciated. Oh yeah, the various breads are fantastic.
