I absolutely would recommend Miss Thelma's to anybody. I have taken many friends there and they all love it. The food is fantastic, especially the fried chicken and the collard greens. Definitely a place to go and relax with good friends and great food.

very over rated not good at all. Go on sunday and you will see why. The food is messy and not presentable. The potatoe salad is watery and the bananna pudding is like a soup. And dont even ask for legs you will wait for hours. Who ever posted the price range is very wrong the charge $5.50 a pound meaning it range $15-20 for a decent take out plate.

The best soul food by far in Connecticut. I just moved to Bridgeport from Stamford and I go there twice a week. The fried Whiting is OUTSTANDING, and dont leave without trying the banana pudding. FANTASTIC.

Good Soul Food

If you are looking for soul food at its best go to Carmens. It's off the Hook. From the golden fried Catfish, smothered pork chops, down to the collards and cornbread. The atmosphere is great and the food goes right along with it. Best bet for anyone wanting some homecook food.. Michael
