This was THE place for fried clams, and hot lobster sandwich. Next best place would have to be up at Cape Cod. But why drive when this pace is in Ct. Loved it and hope it is open in Nov. when I have to pass thru....

OMG! This is the Place for seafood!!! It's tucked away between the dock and train tracks. It's an outdoor eatery on picnic tables. Nothing fancy thats why they can put so much love into their food.

A local recomended this to us after I did hear great reviews on line. We are so glad we did!! Everything was great! The scallops were the ...

Captain Scott's Lobster Dock was incredible and was exactly what I was looking for. I didn't want anything fancy, nothing too overpriced - I just wanted it to be GOOD! And their food was extraordinary!

I loved every minute of it.

Get the (creamy) chowder, clam fritters and warm lobster roll. You'll be full, but glad you binged on their delights.

I work close by so we hit Captain Scott's for lunch frequently. I also took some Canadian friends by for dinner in November 2008. As always, the food was great, the portions were generous and the price was good. Even though it was cold that evening and the outdoor seating is all there is, it was an enjoyable New England experience for out-of-towners withoug sacrificing quality food.

On a bit of an exploration when I first moved to the area about eight years ago, I came across Captain Scotts. After seeing how many locals, including my mailman, were there eating lunch I realized that I had stumbled onto something good! One taste of the luscious lobster roll and the lobster bisque and I was hooked. It's like crack from ...

  • Very disappointed.
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/09/07
On the recommendation of a friend, I went to Capt. Scott's. I ordered a hot lobster roll and clear broth clam chowder. The lobster meat was tough and meger. The chowder was made up of a watery broth with lots of potatoes and very few clams. I don't think I'll return as I can get an excellent lobster roll and chowder in Mystic.

  • rustic new england experience

What's not to love! The food is a sure thing. The fish and chips are spectacular. The lobster roll is great. The setting is true new england. From the boats moored right there, to the slight stink of the salt water. The cries of the sea gulls, and the ocasional show of them stealing a fresh meal right of the picnic table, not to mention the ...
