Great service. Friendly people. Delicious bread. The pasta I ordered was okay. The sauce was watery and supposed to have olive oil in it, but it seemed more like melted butter and was disappointing in that sense.

The antipasta is not what you would expect if you have an italian background. Entrees very good. Atmosphere could improve. Staff is excellent.

The decor is retro cool, like you're in a 40's or 50's time warp. But there's better Italian to be had at places like Juniors or Marco's. I find their lasagna to be really, really mushy.

This is a case of the Emperor's New Clothes - everyone gushes about Boves, and many people do go there, and to be fair the atmosphere is really great, but for those of us that actually care what our food tastes like, it's just not that good.
I still recommend checking it out for the fun decor and nice mix of people, but don't expect "the best italian in Vermont" or even the best italian on the block.

The decor inside is bad, duct tape marks all over my shirt. Get your food to go! Get the cake!
Best food and most reasonable prices in the Burlington area. Get the red garlic sauce, simply awesome!!!!

A can't be missed place

If you get to Burlington, then Bove's Italian restaurant is a must visit place! It's hard to find a place where the lines still go out the door and yet they don't change the inside. The atmosphere of an old neighborhood restaurant with food to match, you can't go wrong with Bove's. It's rare to find a place where every ...

Best Itallian Around
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/28/05
Bove's opened on the same day Pearl Harbor was bombed. Despite the inauspicious start this small, family run resteraunt provides the best Itallian food in the area at the best prices. $8 will get a customer more food than they can finish at a higher quality than any other Itallian resteraunt in Chittenden County.
