For the price the food just doesn't cut it. I'm a southern boy that loves his BBQ. Down south they would go out of business in a week.OVERALL

I love this place. I went to school in Memphis, and this is as close as it gets without being there. On balance, maybe even better than most "real SO. BBQ joints" because they are not focused on one thing, but do pulled pork, shredded beef, ribs, chicken, even some tex/mex and Cajun type stuff. What a disappointment! I am from Memphis (where the REAL Beale Street is located) and I was so excited when I found Beale Street BBQ. The meat was good, tender, and moist, but NOT what you would expect for good Southern BBQ. Real BBQ is smoked for hours and hours over hickory, mesquite, and other aromatic woods. BBQ?Since I grew up in North Carolina, Pork BBQ was a favorite meal of mine. I couldn't wait to eat at Beale Street, but real southern BBQ was not what I found. Don't get me wrong this is a great place to eat! They have excellent BBQ Ribs, but if you're looking for authentic southern BBQ .. this is not the place to find it.OVERALL
