I can't believe we actually paid more for this hotel than the Ritz. My wife and I were in Detroit for the weekend. Two things happened that need to be shared with other users:

If you are looking to get away from the house and kids, this is the place to go. From the friendly staff, to the plush accommodations, you will not find a nicer hotel in the state of Michigan. When we checked in we mentioned it was our 1 year anniversary we were upgraded by the front desk into a wonderful suite with a large living room ...

Looks nice , but when you really take a look it's not that grand. My family was not very happy when they were told they was no pool or game room. Not much to do inside this hotel. I was really disappointed to find out there is no vending machines to be found, I had a craving at two in the morning. Was not in the mood to order room service. The only plus is , beds are dreamy.

Amazing, unusual menu. Fresh ingredients. Knowledgeable staff.

Pros: Nothing else like it in the area; High end

Cons: Pricey (but justified)

A magnificent place. Charming, Grace, Beauty and that's just the little woman who brings the roll-a-ways. We had a fantastic week-end. The wedding reception was completely outstanding. Nothing went wrong. Every little special request was handled with smiles and efficiency. Total elegance!
And then breakfast in the Conservatory. Marvelous, simply marvelous
