If you are looking for a small winery with character and pleasant, knowledgeable staff, please check out Cline. I tried their 2001 Ancient Vines Mourvedre and found the bottle of wine I have been looking for all my life. I can't recommend them highly enough. Plus, they have an aviary in the back! Wine and pheasants, who could ask for more? Seriously, if you want big and gaudy go to Niebaum-Coppola. If you want small and classy try Cline.
