  • Great boat, good fishing, highlight of our trip
    By HB, 11/29/09
Went to Key West with a friend to get away from the cold and do some snorkeling and fishing. It was a very short trip (4 days). Thanks to the reviews here and elsewhere, we decided that Capt. John's Greyhound V was the only party boat worth considering of the three in Key West. My friend and I both decided it was more fun than any party boat ...

  • Great time!
I have been fishing in Key West for over twenty years and during this time I have found that Capt. Johns Greyhound V is the place for Party boat fishing.
Capt. Johhny Potter trys his hardest to get you on the fish! He changes locations if they are not bitting unlike other party boats that sit in the same spot for 2 hour clips even if they are not ...

  • We can't wait for it to start...
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/11/09
We set reservations via their website 3-4 weeks in advance. Imagine our surprise when we showed up at the dock on Saturday morning only to find a sign that read "next trip, Sunday night." It is very disappointing that we did not receive a phone call or an e-mail to let us know. We could have made other plans instead of wasting our morning preparing for the fishing trip that never was.

  • The greatest fishing experience ever!!!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/13/09
My husband and I travel to the keys every year. This year we decided to go fishing aboard captain John Potter's Greyhound V. It was the best experience we have ever had. The captain was very welcoming and have a vast knowledge of the local waters. His beautiful wife was such a pleasure to speak to!! We caught tons of yellowtails and grunts. We ...

    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/01/09
We liked the whole aspect of the trip From First Mate Jeff saw me taking off my own fish and said " It's only a 1/2 day fishin trip " He made everyone laugh the whole trip. My Lady Friend had a fish on and First Mate Jeff sneakely grabbed her pole without her being aware shook it and made her think sha had a whale on. The other ...

  • GREAT FISHING
    By Judy, 11/15/08
A group of us from St. Louis have been down here for almost a month and have been on the Greyhound 5 times. We have caught fish everytime. Yesterday we went with a group of 30 people and the whole boat caught a ton of fish. I caught the three biggest (all Groupers). The largest one I caught was an 11 pound Black Grouper. WHAT FUN! Captain John and Mate Jeff are the best. We will be back - that's a given!

BBaller45 I was there 7/22/08 plus I have been there for at least the past 15 years. All fish goes in the garbage bucket how else do you carry it off the boat from the ice. A lot of people that night didnt mark their fish because they didnt want to take it home. Have you ever heard of high tide, The boat is tall and high tide makes it a ...

  • drunk crew
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/22/08
mate james staggered around the boat. we unhooked all our fish ourselves and had to go get bait ourselves when we ran out. boat was positioned poorly (only those in the back caught fish. captain comes down with beer in hand. mate james forgets to empty trash cans before putting fish in cans. everyone was put in bow of boat to avoid hitting the bridge. terrible customer service will never go again

Great trip with my family... my eight year old had a blast... there is not a day that goes by that he asks me to go back. I am active duty military and just got stationed here... went fishing on the 4th of July, and saw fireworks shows all up and down the Keys from offshore while fishing. The whole crew was great.. JB was awesome! Thanks to the ...

  • Moved Away
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/12/08
My husband and I lived in Key West several years ago, and we fished with Captain John and Mate Jeff almost every weekend. Since moving back to Georgia, we've visited several Florida locations and went fishing, but no experience will ever compare to the fun and jokes, and FANTASTIC fishing we experienced with Captain John and Mate Jeff! I see ...
