We have stayed at the Harlan House approximately 10 times over the past two years and have found it to be wonderful. Sam-the owner has become a dear friend to us and her breakfast is marvelous. You can't beat the price for what you get. You are within walking distace to Columbia's main street and Fallon House Theatre. I highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast.
I called in December, 2006 to make a reservation for a king-sized bedroom (we cannot comfortably sleep in a smaller size bed) prior to making reservations for the December play, "Plaid Tidings" as tickets are not refundable. We received confirmed reservation. Then upon returning home this week (April, 2007) there was a call from ...

April 2007
This was our first stay at a B & B and it was most enjoyable. The house has been maintained nicely. Our room was very comfortable and quiet. The location is convenient - and just a short walk to "downtown" Columbia. The hostess, "Sam" (Samantha) is a very pleasant, cheerful woman who makes you feel at home from the minute you walk into Harlan House. We would not hesitate to return.

The Harlan House B&B

The beautiful victorian dates back to late 1800's and is situated on a hill overlooking beautiful Columbia. Across the street is the Red ...

Charm, privacy & gardens surround you
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/09/06
We stayed in the wine cellar room which has a private entrance near the garden and enjoyed the freedom of coming and going without passing through a common area. The room was huge and the hottub & private bathroom were so welcome. This was so much better than our previous stay in the City Hotel where the walls were thin and the shower shared. The owner was charming and prepared us a terrific breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.
We have staid at the harlan house two times and found that it is very comfortable and sam is extremely friendly. I would recommend the wine cellar room .
