  • Very peaceful
    By Critty, 07/06/09
This is one of the better priced places in Apalach.
Sandy, the owner, is a very sweet lady. We only briefly saw her to chat for a bit. It is a small inn with four rooms, and one block off the main drag.

We chose this place because it was much cheaper than the other places in town -- and much smaller. It is not a true bed and breakfast. It is more ...

  • We will not go back
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/08/09
This was our first Bed and Breakfast experience for our 21st Wedding Anniversary and was very excited to go for a weekend getaway. When we got there, everything looked nice on the outside, but the room which I picked out on the website was a different story. She said she cleaned it, but it was very dusty. The sheets smelled stale, not like fresh ...

  • A Standout, Hidden Gem!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/06/08
The Witherspoon Inn is as good as it gets in the quaint village of Apalachicola, FL. This historic B&B along with its shabby chic, flawless charm is a must stay while in town. Our stay consisted of using the inn as a two night base for our journeys in and around Apalachicola. The super convenient, in-the-heart of town location provided ...

  • Going back in May
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/25/08
My husband and I wanted a weekend getaway that was close to our home town yet far enough away that you felt like you "got away". We chose Apalachicola Fl. based on an article in our local paper and in Southern Living. What a wonderful place to visit. We felt as though we had stepped back in time to old Florida before the Disney ...

  • Perfect Setting, Wonderful Inn Keeper
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/14/07
The overall setting of the Witherspoon Inn was perfect. Porch with comfortable rocking chairs, shaded by a grand old tree. You can feel the history of the inn as soon as you pull into the drive. The inn keeper, Sandy, is your mother, your sister, your best friend all wrapped up into one person. A beautiful character, both inside and out, willing to ...

  • Hope to return soon!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/05/06
Lovely home and hostess!. Very good accommodations even in the single room. Quality bedding, towels, etc. The pumpkin bread was absolutely delicious. Would love to have the recipe! Wide selection of refreshments in the common area. Thanks for a great evening.

  • Great Value!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/10/06
Sandra Kenniston is a wonderful innkeeper. During our short 1 1/2 day getaway she was so kind to provide fresh fruit, soft drinks, coffee, tea, freshly baked bread (two types-beer and pumpkin) and pizelle cookies for us to bring home to our toddlers. Considering this establishment is not listed as a B&B, we were quite surprised!

    Sandra is very ...
