Best Sushi in the U.S.A. Absolutely without question the best sushi and service. We have yet to have better. A small Family run restaurant serving Japanese and Korean dishes. These wonderful people are the best! This location in West Lebanon is small, intimate, and cozy. We have been eating in restaurants for 30 years. The combination of quality and service here should be the standard for all to follow!

The Hanover branch has much classier decor, and more space between tables, so that's the one I would choose for a special occasion. But at either location the staff is friendly and the food absolutely superb.

Yama has become my favorite restaurant in the upper valley, and it has become a happy tradition for my family & I to celebrate my birthday there each December. The sushi is great, both their traditional offerings as well as creative & tasty specialties which are inspired by local flavors.

The Korean fare is fantastic: the kimchi chigae, the ...

Yama is TERRIBLE. The service was poor and our waiter neglected us even though there were only two other tables being served. The food, believe it not, was even worse. The udon noodle soup had absolutely no taste, the noodles were thick and slimy and the broth tasted like putrid water with some hot sauce mixed in. Store-bought cup noodles would ...

Love this place - great food, nice people. We lived in San Francisco for years and this is the only place we'll eat sushi in the Upper Valley - really good quality fish. Also, they are genuinely kid-friendly - not in a crayon-and-paper-placemat way, but rather they consistently seem pleased to see kids and greet them warmly every time! ...

As far as ethnic offerings go in the Upper Valley, Yama is the best there is. The food has not been compromised to accomodate "western" taste buds. My husband lived in Korean as an ex-patriot and claims that the food is true to form. The sushi is also very fresh and the service friendly. The restaurant is extremely kid-friendly with the ...

Good food. Not much atmosphere. Get there early if you don't want to wait a long time for a table. Menu is full of Korean and Japanese. Had the Sushi, Sashimi and a Korean short rib specialty. All good. Service was excellent. Would definitely return. Judging from the crowd around the door waiting to get in we were not alone in thinking this is a pretty good place.

Service is personalized -- they know my side dish preferences when I show up to pick up an order. The word is out though, and when the Upper Valley descends, the waiting time can be very long for the 10-12 tables. So, stop writing all these great reviews and keep it a secret!
