Having visited Newport several times the Red Parrot was on the top of our list. We recently spent 5 days in Newport and went to the Parrot 3 times! Always an enjoyable time. The Lobster pizza is a favorite for lunch with large and I mean large pieces of lobster. Servers were all very accommodating and pleasant. We love to sit in the front window area and watch the activity out on the streets.

Friendly waitstaff and good food. Three levels which offer plenty of seating. VERY crowded during the tourist season. Try to visit during the Fall or Winter.

I have been to the red parrott twice now while working the Spring & Fall Newport Boat Show. The 1st time all of our meals were not good. Biggest complaint was that nothing was hot...all cold. Next time I had the worst meal ever...really, really bad. Will not eat there again.

This is one great place to eat in Newport, they have a wide choice of dinners, casual and light foods. I have eaten there many many times and will continue to every time I visit Newport,RI. I could not reccomend the Red Parrot enough, try the lobster stew, the crab cakes and the best sweet potato fries around. Family oriented and very friendly service, I have never been disappointed. Worth the trip from PA

Wasn't impressed. I got the fire shrimp and scallop salad which had not scallops on it and was on a bed of wilted spinach. I go to Newport every few years and definitely will not be going there again.

Last night, I had an atrocious service experience at the Red Parrot. My date and I arrived late - but knew (as repeat customers of the restaurant) that the restaurant was open til midnight on Saturday nights. We got there at 11:45, and were told by the bouncer that we could sit down. He told the hostess, who got us the menus and began to escort ...

What a bad turn. We always come to the Parrot when in RI and always have a great time...I'm sorry I can't say that anymore, as our last trip there was a disaster. It was late for dinner but we were hungry and set out for the Parrot, it is the only time I have ever seen so few patrons there. We got a table and ordered our drinks and app. It ...

We dropped by this restaurant for a quick lunch of steamed clams and martinis. The steamed clams prepared in garlic and white wine will leave you wanting more. The wait staff was very professional and friendly. The martinis were absolutely perfect. We could not ask for a better experience.
