We have eaten at Coconut Thai numerous times. The service has always been courteous and prompt. It's not the best Thai food we've ever had, but you have to go to Bangkok, or at least NYC to get a better value. Two people can have a fine spicy meal for under $30. Drunken noodles and tod mun are excellent. I have noticed many seem to order the Pad Thai. This is not a fancy restaurant and doesn't pretend to be.

I ordered sticky rice the lady said she does not have the mango I said ok I will take it withou the mango. She gave me just plain rice. When I asked her wheres the coconut milk she said you said you did not want the mango. I said never mind I will just take the cheque. I paid and left. She said what no tip. She then proceeds to follow me out of the door and aked for her tip. I ignored her and she said dont come back since you did not tip.
It is truly the best Thai food I've eaten. I go to the one in Newton Centre as well as this one. Love it and its cheap too. My favorites - Shrimp Basil Fried rice and Chicken Mango Curry

Good food..bad service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/01/06
I go to school close by, the food is probably the best thai in wellesley, but the service is extremely poor. The staff seems to always be in a really bad mood and get angry for no reason. Take out is probably the best decision, it saves you from unnecessary abuse.
its really super small, which makes dining there awkward. but take out is fantastic. in terms of price... lunch is fair, and dinner is more expensive. the wait for food is always 20 minutes. other than that its a lovely place.
