This place has gotten ridiculously popular the past few years. It's a "roadstop Indian experience" -- you go in (if you're not waiting outside), and there are Bollywood music videos blasting on the tv. The food is excellent -- the eggplant dish (bangain bharta) and lamb marsala are great -- and the prices are very cheap. Meals ...

  • True to its name

Dhaba style food and atmosphere. Don't expect a comfortable ambience and restaurant style food. The food is basic dhaba(roadside restaurant) style and so is the atmosphere. It is self service but worth the effort for the simple flavours of punjabi dhabas.

  • We all had a great time!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/02/06
My friends and I really love this place, the scene is always lively, and the music is always pumping. The food is great! The dhaba is much more fun than sitting on your bum trying to bop to some sappy sitar music like at other indian places. You won't get bored here. TIP- The upstairs rooms are great for private lunches, but during dinner the whole place goes public. :)

  • Not Charmed.
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/06/06
So many people love this place, but my experience was not good. There was plenty of food on my plate, but my chicken tikka masala was bland, and my rice & naan were cold. The restaurant was charmless & crammed. I ate at a dirty table, looking out a dirty window, sharing a table with strangers.

  • Great neighborhood eats
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/15/05
This is a great spot for cheap Indian food. My wife and I always get the mixed platter for two which gets you half the menu on two trays. Bollywood movies on the tv add to the scene.

  • Best Indian Food in Town
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/19/05
This is the real deal. I forgot what authentic Indian was supposed to taste like it's been so damn long. But this is it. Everything we try is fabulous. And it's cheap. Thankfully, we live only a block away. Oh, one word of warning...be prepared to deal with a crowd.

  • Solid Indian

The clocks read Indian time and the tv has Indian music videos. The food is excellent and the heat of the restaurant is straight from Dheli.
