My first impression of Abe & Louie's was poor, as the host couldn't seem to find the reservation I had called in two days earlier, and curtly told me to stand in the lobby and wait until the rest of my party arrived.

Dinner ran us about $92 each, including one drink, one steak, one side dish, and one dessert with coffee each, including ...

5 Star filet mignon for me. 5 Star sirloin salad for the lady. Phenom crispy bread basket. Elegant surroundings. Service second to none! (Thank you Max)Next time the Prime Rib is all mine;(served after 3PM). You get what you pay for.

My favorite steakhouse in Boston. Super service, food is always great, and the price is what it is. you dont even need a knife to cut thr steak. it's a dining experience.

OK and that's it. Overpriced and crowded. Not nearly in the fist tier of steakhouses.

Absolute gem and a must go to. Lobster claws, lamb chops, filets, ice wine... it goes on. All good.

  • Not good

Food is not steak-house caliber, staff is rude, somewhat of a local, laid-back atmosphere, less formal than some. Even Capital Grille, a chain, rocks this place in terms of quality of food and service.

I don't know what was spent for the food, but whatever it was, it was WAY to much.. We had french toast. A specialty that about a quarter of the people had. It was ...

It takes 24-48 hours for "bad" food to incubate in your system and then turn toxic. I get so sick of hearing this complaint from people who clearly don't know what their talking about. I've been a restaurant worker my whole life and people never get tired of telling me about food that made them sick two hours after they ate it. ...

  • Boston's Greatest Steak House. Period!
    By AJ Blastos, 05/20/06
Fabulous dining room - very Dante Ferretti, extraordinary service, and the food...forget about it!!! In this day and age of boring, franchised, monotony, the sublime working chaos of Abe and Louie's lunch and dinner rush is fantastic entertainment while you enjoy a cocktail and wait for your entree which is as good as you dream it could be. ...
