Nice atmosphere. Great food, great prices and great people! 4 of us ordered mussels, steamers and lobster raviolo. Bill was around $60. The bartenders went out of their way to make us feel welcome, service was excellent. Boston Creme Pie.. is a must have! On a scale of 1-10 it's a 20.

I was so disapointed when I ate here! I have walked by the restutant many times and always said I wanted to eat here. My boyfriend took me for valentines day and my shrimp was cold and the waitstaff was sub par. A dark haired woman said what do you want before we sat down and took our coats off. The restaurant itself is lovely and has a lot of ...

I cannot say enough about the Union Oyster House. My husband Robbie and my two very young children visited this historic landmark restaurant this past August as part of our vacation. We had a reservation, but arrived a bit early and waited in the side bar on the ground floor. The bartenders were an absolute delight.

"Sub par" is right on target. Dessert was not impressive and expensive. Our friends went on a separate occasion, for mediocre high priced dinners. I'd never recommend this place for their food, but it's an establishment with history. Having the opportunity to dine at the oldest restaurant in the United States was worthwhile -but only just the once.

Went there last October for the first and last time. Very cramped inside and very expensive. Food was sub-par compared to other local eateries. We would not reccomend them to anyone

Took my husband to Boston for a 25th Wedding Anniversary weekend.
We went to the Union Oyster House on Friday and had a one hour wait, so we went to the bar for a glass of wine. The bartender was not only gigantic, but was absolutely wonderful. He told us all the history of the restaurant and kept us entertained with his quick wit and excellent ...

Loved the history and food was excellent. My wife and I each had a cup of the clam chowder and quite honestly, was some of the best we've ever tasted. We then thoroughly enjoyed their lobster roll. This place is fantastic although the gift shop takes away some of the charm.

History, its name and Clam Chowder is basically all thats the restaurant's got going for it. I went there yesterday and blew a ton of money on an overpriced mediocre entree. Good for appetizers.

The food was decent but unspectacular. If it wasn't for the gimmick of being the oldest continuously running restaurant in the US I wouldn't have much else to recommend to others. I thought the entrees at Legals was much better.

The chowder was very good though. Is it worth a trip downtown and paying $10+ to park just to eat it? ...

My parents took me to this place when I was 5 for my first taste of seafood and clam chowder. I still remember to this day sitting in the small booth and having my first tastes. Since then I have loved clam chowder and always wanted to make it back. Well, after reading some of the reviews here I decided to keep my journey 26 years later to what I ...
