Door keys (cards) almost never worked. Most electrical outlets didn't work. Bathtub drain wouldn't hold water. Didn't provide new towels/wash clothes when house keeping took the dirty ones away.
This is the sorriest excuse for a Howard Johnson I have ever seen. I didn't know "motels" still existed like this and could charge $100 a night for a room like this. It reeked of clorox yet the furniture was dirty and the carpet and bathroom looked so old I wouldn't even stay there. I left and spent the night on someone's sofa ...

Hole in the wall, chewed gum on the bed, BAD parking area (had to walk to room because we couldnt park in the parking slot because of a fence), broken safety lock (like room did not lock from inside), went to check out and staff was talking on the phone in a little room and the television was turned up so high she had no idea was even in the building...would have been better off staying in our vehicle for the softball tournament.

staff/ bad size and cleanliness/ bad value for price/ bad this hotel is a bad experience and they try to change rates after booking. Avoid this place.....sleep in your car!!!
It was old, but seemed clean and freshly painted. The TV's are so old they don't have a sleep mode, though. The shower drained VERY slowly and the electrical outlets need to be replaced. It was cheap - and the bed was comfortable.

$50 Hotel

This room is what I expected. We needed somewhere to sleep after getting in from a late flight and had to get up early and go to an orientation close to the hotel. We were looking for sleeping only - and that is what you get with this room. Room was small but clean and cheap - $50 hotel.

Great Stay at an Affordable Price!

I enjoyed my stay at the Howard Johnson Express in College Station. The staff is very friendly with clean room and valued amenities such as free high speed internet in their king size beds suites. I would definately recommend this to anyone.
