From Fifield, WI, Travel east on Hwy. 70 about 5 miles to large parking area.
Location Information
The Wintergreen Cross-country Skiing and Hiking Trail is for your year-round enjoyment. The trail is approximately 5 miles east of Fifield, north of Highway 70. A large parking area and restroom facilities are avaiallbe at the trailhead. The trail offers both the hiker and skier a variety of routes through rolling terrain, ranging from upland ridges to lowland marshes. Scenic vistas overlooking several ponds and bogs are present. The trails pass through a mixture of forest types from lowland conifers and red pine plantations to northern hardwoods and young aspen stands (ideal for spotting wildlife). The trail loop system provides a variety of opportunities for both beginner and experienced skiers and hikers. Loop D is rated as an expert segment.
