From Cherokee, NC, Travel to the end of Clingman's Dome Road off US 441, north of Cherokee. Begin on Forney Creek Trail and take it to Jonas Creek Trail traveling northwest to terminate at Welch Ridge Trail.
Location Information
This multi-use trail offers a panoramic 180 degree views at its terminus near High Rocks. The elevation at this point is 5,200 feet. The trail travels along a high ridge and is considered moderate with an elevation change of 2,100 feet. The northern end of the trail reaches to the Appalachian Trail.
