Location Information
This poplar trout stream trail ascends around 2,800 feet over 14 miles. The lower portion of the trail runs along an old railroad grade. There are a number of primitive campsites dotting the trail. The hiker will cross 4 major ridges down to the stream. When the ridges intersect with Deep Creek, the trail ascends from the creek. These paths are well worn from the many sightseers who come to look at the magnificent headwaters. This area is known to have a lot of black bear, so it is best to hang food high.
