Location Information
The North Country Trail (NCT) is a National Scenic Trail which when completed will extend across seven states from New York to North Dakota. Today, 1,700 of the 4,000-mile route are completed.

On the Huron-Manistee National Forest, the trail passes through a wide variety of vegetation types. Blue diamond blazes designate the NCT, as well as posts with NCT stickers at road crossings. Topography varies from flat to gently rolling hills. Much of this segment is flat, yet very scenic. Nearly 20 miles of trail skirts the edge of numerous wetlands and small, clear lakes.

The area south of M-20 is off limits to mountain bikers.

Camping is permitted 200 feet off the trail. This is a carry-in / carry-out trail. Developed campgrounds along this segment include Twinwood Lake, Minnie Pond, and White Cloud State Park. Just west of White Cloud along Echo Drive, a wayside rest offers a picnic site and potable water. Water is also available at White Cloud State Park.

Note: A vehicle pass is required from April 1 to November 1. Passes may be purchased for $30 (household), $20 (annual), $5 (weekly), or $3 (daily). Golden Age Passport and Access holders may purchase annual passes for 50% of the regular price.
