Location Information
Cookson Lake dispersed campsites are located on the shore of the lake and in a stand of aspen and hardwoods. A variety of wildflowers such as Queen Anne's Lace and Indian Paint Brush, can be seen during the warmer months.

Cookson Lake has five dispersed campsites. Campsite #2 has a good water view and a nearby car-top boat launch. Each campsite has a fire ring. No drinking water is available. You must bring your own filter or boil lake water to make it safe to drink. There is a toilet nearer campsite #1. You must bring your own toilet paper.

Largemouth bass, northern pike, bluegill and bullhead make their homes in Cookson Lake. This is a "carry-in, carry-out" facility. Camping permits are required and available through the Ranger District office, 906-387-3700 or 2512.
