Location Information
Bass Lake is a 290-acre lake located approximately 27 miles northwest of Manistique. There is one primitive campsite located on the west side of the lake. It is a very nice semi-open area, 50' X 35', that would be suitable for one family and trailer. There is an improved boat access located on the east side of the lake. It is intended for day use only. Boats with trailers are advised to use this access. The boat access at the campsite is a car-top launch. Bass Lake is considered to be an excellent fishing lake containing northern pike, small and largemouth bass, and bluegill.

Camping permits are required and available through the Ranger District office, 906-341-5666.

No primitive toilets or drinking water are available at this site. Groceries, gasoline, fishing supplies, boat rentals and ice are available at Steuben, about three miles north on CR 437 or in the Thunder Lake Area along CR 437.
