From Cody, This trailhead is located 44.7 miles west on US Highway 14, 16, 20. The trailhead for horse users is signed from the highway as Eagle Creek Trailhead. The trailhead for backpackers begins behind Eagle Creek Campground.

TRAILHEAD LOCATION: This trailhead is located 44.7 miles west on US Highway 14, 16, 20. The trailhead for horse users is signed from the highway as Eagle Creek Trailhead. The trailhead for backpackers begins behind Eagle Creek Campground.

GENERAL INFORMATION: Both horse and backpacker trails begin by crossing the Shoeshine River. The trails soon meet and cross into the wilderness are. Eagle Creek is crossed at three and four miles before the trail enters a small meadow. At the eight-mile marker, Eagle Creek Meadows is encountered. The trail shirts the east edge of this large meadow before continuing uphill to Eagle Pass and the Yellowstone National Park boundary.
