From Cody, Travel 17 miles north on WY 120, then west on WY 296 to Dead Indian Trailhead with the Campground just across the road.

TRAILHEAD LOCATION: Off WY 296 just across the road from Dead Indian Campground.

GENERAL INFORMATION: The Dead Indian Trail follows the Dead Indian Creek drainage past Dead Indian Meadows, where it ends several miles short of the headwaters. Much of the trail passes through dense forest, but there are a few scenic views of the drainage and surrounding ridges. Several good campsites are situated at the west end of the meadows, past the trail to Bear Springs. There are a couple of food storage poles located near these sites.
