From Pinedale, Follow Skyline Drive north, past Fremont Lake to the end of the road. Trails End is about 16 miles from Pinedale.
Location Information
LOCATION: 16 miles north of Pinedale, past Fremont Lake, at the end of Skyline Drive. ATTRACTIONS: This campground is located at Elkhart Trailhead. There is a large parking area and a visitor information center. Note that the visitor's center does not have a telephone. This is an administrative site for Forest Service employees. Volunteers man this station during the summer months. NATURAL SETTING: This is a quaint campground surrounded by stands of large pine trees. Sites look out onto a large meadow with wildflowers. You can view the Wind River Range from a nearby lookout. FACILITIES: Drinking water, picnic tables, a refuse container, trailer accessibility, public corrals, and toilets.
