Location Information
Paisley Woods Bicycle Trail winds through the scenic Longleaf Pine-Wiregrass ecosystem. Live oak domes, grassy prairies and stands of pine, from very young to very old, are encountered along the trail. This habitat is home to many sensitive, rare and endangered species. Deer and black bear frequent the area. The trail is a 22-mile loop with shorter loops available at the halfway point. Water is not available along the trail, so carry plenty. Alexander Springs is located on the north end of the trail and Clearwater Lake on the south end. Water, flush toilets, and showers are available at both areas with a concession at Alexander Springs. Please note that a fee is required to use these facilities. The trail is marked with yellow diamonds and yellow posts at road crossings. Parking is free at the trailhead at Clearwater Lake and the parking area on Forest Route 538.
