From Homestead, FL, Travel west several miles on County Road 9336. It turns into Main Park Road. Upon entering the park, travel seven miles (11 km) and turn left following signs to the campground. Network of 28 miles of trails weave around campground. (Free maps at entrance.)
Location Information
More than 28 miles of connecting trails wind through the pine forest around Long Pine Key Campground. The Long Pine Key Nature Trail is a continuous trail that runs 7 miles west from the campground to Pine Glades Lake along the main park road. It is open to bicycles. The Old Ingraham Highway is also open to bicycles. It runs 11 miles south and west from near the Royal Palm Visitor Center, and with two overnight campsites along the way. Sightings of the endangered Florida panther have been reported in the area. Other more common wildlife sightings include raccoon, opossums, white-tailed deer and a plethora of wading birds.
