Directions
From Homestead, FL, Travel west several miles on County Road 9336. The trailhead is located about 19.5 miles from the main park entrance (Main Park Road).
Location Information
This self-guiding boardwalk trail meanders through a dense, jungle-like hardwood hammock. Lush vegetation includes gumbo-limbo trees, air plants, moss, ferns, lichens and the largest living mahogany tree (Swietenia mahogany) in the United States. Once abundant throughout the area, these trees were harvested by the early settlers for their prized wood. This trail is handicapped accessible.
