Location Information
Lake DeLancy Recreation Area offers an east and west location providing campsites, restrooms, drinking water and hiking trails. Combined, there are nearly 60 campsites costing $5 a night. Campsites are first-come, first-served. The day use fee runs $4. Lake DeLancy's list of what they don't have is almost longer than the list of what they do have. They do NOT have a boat launch, canoe or boat rental, dump station and no showers. Because of the quiet nature of the area, visitors have wonderful wildlife viewing opportunities. One of Lake DeLancy best features is that it provides access to the Florida National Scenic Trail, which stretches throughout Ocala National Forest for 66 miles. It is also the closest campground to Little Lake George Wilderness, located in the northeastern tip of the Forest along State Highway 19. Lake DeLancy is considered by many to be the Forest's most productive lake. Those who fish it regularly most often are rewarded with good catches of largemouth bass or sunfish.
