From Detroit, Follow Highway 22 east from Detroit Ranger Station for 18.8 miles; turn onto Road 2234 (Bugaboo Road) and follow for 3.2 miles; take left on Road 260 for about 400 feet. Trail begins to right.
Location Information
Bugaboo Ridge Trail (#3423) is an easy to moderate 2.5 mile hike. Impressive flower displays along upper portions of trail in early summer. Views of Mt. Jefferson and Three Fingered Jack. An extended trip on Trail 3420 to the top of Bachelor Mountain offers a panoramic view which includes Coffin Mountain, Mt. Hood, the Three Sisters, and Diamond Peak. Carry water. Old-growth Douglas-fir/ Noble fir at lower elevations and Mountain hemlock at higher elevations.
