From Mehama, Turn onto Little North /fork Road #2209 from Hwy. 22 near Mehama. To access first trailhead, follow Road 2209 to Elkhorn. Turn right onto Road 201 and follow to trailhead. To access second trailhead, stay on Road 2209 to fork in road. Veer right onto Road 2207. Follow Road 2207 to western end of the closed Shady Cove Bridge. Park and walk across bridge to trailhead.
Location Information
The Little North Santiam Trial (#3338) is an easy 4.2 mile trail. Trail is being constructed by the Chemeketans Hiking Club of Salem in a voluntary partnership with the Forest Service. The 4.2 mile segment from Road 201 to Shady Cove Bridge is nearing completion and is open for use. Additional proposed trail segments will continue along the Little North Santiam River to Opal Creek, and follow Opal Creek to Opal Lake.
