Directions
From Blue River, Travel east on Hwy. #126 for 4 miles and turn right onto Rd. 19 (Aufderheide Forest Drive.) Continue for 3 miles to Cougar Dam. At the dam turn left onto Rd. 1993 for 12 miles to Lowder Trailhead on the right.
Location Information
Lowder Trail #3329 is a more difficult 10.8 mile hike at an elevation of 4,640 feet. This trail passes through numerous meadows and offers great views of the French Pete drainage. From Tipsoo Butte (an old lookout site) the trail gets steep with many switchbacks. The trail may disappear through the meadows.
