Location Information
Clear Lake Trail is a moderate 5 mile loop at an elevation of 3,000 feet. This trail is part of the McKenzie River National Recreation Trail. It circles Clear Lake, the headwaters of the McKenzie River, traversing an old lava flow. An interpretive brochure is available at Clear Lake Resort and at the Coldwater Cove boat launch. The west side of the loop has periodic closures in spring to protect nesting Bald Eagles.
