From Blue River, Travel 3.5 miles east on Hwy. 126 to Aufderheide Road (FS road 19). Continue on Aufderheide Drive for 26 miles to the Box Canyon Horse Camp and the trailhead will be on the right.
Location Information
Grasshopper Trail #3569 is a more difficult 13.5 mile hike at an elevation of 3,728 feet. This trail starts at Box Canyon Horse Camp. The first 2 miles to the Chucksney Trail Junction is a steady climb. Continuing on Grasshopper Trail you walk through many meadows with an excellent view to the south.

This trail travels through the Chucksney Mountain Roadless Recreational Area and offers excellent opportunities for solitude and scenic views. The area is winter range for elk and deer.
