From Prospect, Travel northeast on Highway 230 to its junction with Highway 138. Continue north on 138 and turn north onto Road 60, the Windigo Pass Road. Follow 60 for 4.5 miles and turn right onto Road 6000-958, the Kelsay Valley Road. The Bradley Creek Trailhead is at the end of the road in 1.5 miles. Follow this to the North Umpqua Trail #1414, which then leads to Lucille Lake Trail. It is 8.5 miles from the Bradley Creek Trailhead to the Lucile Lake Trail junction. Lucile Lake is also accessible from the east side of the Cascades at Miller Lake Trail junction as well as at Miller Lake via the Maidu Lake Trail #3725.
Location Information
The Lucille Lake Trail is a pleasant walk through a shady mountain hemlock canopy. The trail merges with a trail that circle the lake. A good camping spot is available near Lucile Creek, before arriving at Lucile Lake. A small Free Use Campground with picnic tables and fire rings is available at the Bradley Creek Trailhead. The entire trail is within the Mt. Thielsen wilderness which prohibits all motorized use and mountain bikes.
