From Roseburg, Travel east on Highway 138 18 miles past the North Umpqua Ranger Station to Wright Creek Forest Service Road 4711. Follow 4711 for about a quarter mile to the trailhead for the Mott Trail #1530 on the left. Follow the Mott Trail 1.5 miles east to McDonald Trail.
Location Information
The McDonald Trail has many switchbacks and ends on Forest Service Road 4714-185 in an old clear-cut. The trail traverses along a ridge through second-growth and old-growth forests. It then passes an old homestead and two parcels of private property; please be considerate. Wildflowers are abundant during the spring.
